GTA 6 Grassrivers: The Everglades of Vice City
Grassrivers is Rockstar's take on the Florida Everglades: a vast subtropical wetland of swamps, marshes, cypress forests and slow rivers. This is GTA 6's most unique biome — and the place where wildlife is most dangerous.
The wetland biome
Endless cypress forests, slow-moving rivers, alligator pools and floating fishing villages. Visibility drops fast at night thanks to mist and dense vegetation — a deliberate stealth-friendly environment.
Wildlife and hunting
Alligators have been confirmed by Rockstar with dedicated AI patterns — ambush, not just generic wildlife. Hunting and fishing return as systems from Red Dead Redemption 2, adapted for swamp ecosystems.
Airboats and traversal
Airboats are the primary way to cross the deepest parts of Grassrivers. Standard vehicles will get stuck. Expect mission set-pieces that require airboat chases and skiff infiltration.
Outlaw camps and hideouts
Datamines suggest the deep Everglades hide outlaw camps, meth labs and Coast Guard avoidance routes. The region's role in the storyline appears tied to the drug trade and rural crime networks.
