PC release: no date yet — what we expect

GTA VI launches console-first on November 19, 2026. There is still no announced PC release date. Based on Rockstar's last three PC ports, expect a window 12 to 18 months later.

Rockstar Games has confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI will launch first on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. PC players have been given no date — and Rockstar's history suggests a long wait.

Rockstar's PC track record

GTA IV: console April 2008, PC December 2008 (8 months later). GTA V: console September 2013, PC April 2015 (18 months later). Red Dead Redemption 2: console October 2018, PC November 2019 (13 months later). The pattern is clear and unlikely to break.

Realistic PC window

Based on Rockstar's historical pattern, expect GTA 6 PC sometime between November 2027 and May 2028 — 12 to 18 months after the console release. Rockstar uses the delay to push console sales and ship a substantially upgraded PC version.

What to do as a PC player

Two options: buy a PS5 or Series X|S to play at launch, or wait 12-18 months for the PC port. Many PC players choose to wait — Rockstar's PC ports historically arrive with major visual upgrades and full modding support.
