As always with Rockstar's biggest release, the leaks arrived before the official reveal. In the days leading up to the August 27 Extended Look, two roughly minute-long GTA 6 gameplay clips and a screenshot reportedly showing the Florida-inspired map surfaced online. Rockstar moved quickly, hitting the uploads with DMCA takedown notices.
What reportedly leaked
The clips showed short slices of moment-to-moment gameplay, and the map image lined up broadly with what Rockstar has since confirmed about Leonida. Within about 48 hours, the official Extended Look made most of the leaked material redundant — this time the real thing landed almost immediately after.
