GTA 6 Release Date Confirmed: November 19, 2026

Jun 22, 2026·3 min read

After two prior delays, Rockstar Games has officially locked Grand Theft Auto VI to launch on November 19, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date has been re-confirmed in earnings calls and Newswire posts, with pre-orders opening June 25, 2026.

Why the date moved from May to November 2026

Rockstar originally targeted a fall 2025 window, then shifted to May 26, 2026, and ultimately to November 19, 2026. The studio publicly cited 'additional polish' on the State of Leonida — the largest, most varied open world it has ever shipped. Take-Two's leadership has re-affirmed November 19 in every earnings call since.

What launches on November 19

The base game launches simultaneously on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC has not received a confirmed date and is expected to follow 12 to 18 months later, in line with Rockstar's last three console-first launches.

Pre-order window

Pre-orders open Thursday, June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Amazon, GameStop and major regional retailers. Standard, Deluxe and Collector's editions are expected, with final pricing confirmed on June 25.

What to do before launch
