Rockstar reveals the official GTA VI cover art — pre-orders open June 25

Rockstar drops the official cover art for Grand Theft Auto VI — Jason and Lucia front and center of the iconic GTA grid, synthwave blue-and-pink palette nodding to Vice City. Pre-orders open Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Rockstar Games revealed the official cover art for Grand Theft Auto VI on June 18, 2026 — three days before pre-orders open. The composition follows the studio's signature grid layout, with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos placed front and center as the romantic-criminal duo at the heart of the story.

The composition decoded

Surrounding the duo are several scenes that establish the game's tone: a stunt rider launching a motorcycle into the air, a police cruiser racing below, and a helicopter equipped with a mounted minigun dominating the skyline. The cover pays homage to the original Vice City, with prominent blue and pink contrast that evokes Ocean Bay and Vice Beach — the synthwave palette that defined the 2002 title.

Hidden easter eggs

Eagle-eyed fans have already spotted a 25-year-old Rockstar trademark hidden in the bottom-right tile, plus subtle callbacks to past covers. Rockstar's commitment to grid-based artwork dates back to GTA III in 2001 — and the GTA 6 cover continues that tradition with the most detailed scenes the studio has ever drawn.

What this means for launch

The cover reveal marks the official start of GTA VI's marketing campaign. Pre-orders open Thursday, June 25 on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and major retailers worldwide. Three editions are expected: Standard ($70-80), Deluxe ($100-130), and a Collector's edition ($149-229) that will sell out within hours.
