GTA 6 An Extended Look: Everything Revealed in the Gameplay Reveal
On August 27, 2026, Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look — a 26-minute presentation captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5. It premiered on Netflix at 3:00 PM ET before hitting YouTube and the official GTA VI site six hours later. This is the first true gameplay reveal for GTA 6, and here is everything it confirmed.
What 'An Extended Look' actually is
Not a cinematic trailer — a gameplay deep dive. All 26 minutes were captured in-engine on a base PS5, following Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos through Vice City and the wider State of Leonida. Rockstar deliberately avoided numbering it 'Trailer 3,' but it is the third major GTA 6 video and by far the most substantial.
Gameplay systems confirmed
Seamless on-the-fly character switching between Jason and Lucia, overhauled melee combat, refreshed gunplay and shooting feel, and a huge library of unique NPC animations. Rockstar's headline pitch was density — crowds, interiors and streets that react rather than loop the same handful of behaviors.
New characters and screenshots
The reveal came bundled with 20+ official screenshots introducing four new named characters — Raul Bautista, Boobie Ike, Bae-Luxe and Roxy — alongside Jason and Lucia in new outfits. It also confirmed dynamic body customization: characters can gain or lose weight and muscle over time.
What it means for the November 19 launch
Two cinematic trailers proved GTA 6 looked next-gen; the Extended Look proves it plays that way. A polished, unbroken 26-minute PS5 capture this close to release is the strongest signal yet that the November 19, 2026 date is solid.
